Today I saw that there is a new application called Fishbowl which will take Facebook out of the browser and to your desktop… But unfortunately its only for windows users! Does that mean that the Linux users are alone? Apparently not… You can do the same thing using Prism… and Prism works on both Windows and Linux!
Now, lets see how to install this in your Ubuntu system :
- First open your terminal (on the main menu Applications > Accessories > Terminal )
- Next enter the following command :
sudo apt-get install prism-facebook
- After you install it in the main menu go to Applications > Internet > Facebook
Not only Facebook we can use Prism for many other things too… Following are the few commands to install some other Prism apps :
- Gmail
sudo apt-get install prism-google-mail
sudo apt-get install prism-google-calendar
sudo apt-get install prism-twitter
- Google Docs
sudo apt-get install prism-google-docs
Know about more codes? Know how to install it on other Linux systems? If you do… feel free to comment it…
