Some say that Linux is completely virus free… but actually the truth is its not. Linux is vulnerable to viruses! So, do we have to wait till a virus attack us to prove that? I don’t think so… So, its time to hire a guard to protect your system, and Avast, just might be the guard you want!
Most of the virus makers wants to infect as many victims as they can, so Most of them target windows systems because most of the world uses Windows! But, that doesn’t mean that we don’t have viruses for Linux… The number of people using Linux systems are growing day by day, so does the number of viruses. Still there are a small number of threats for Linux systems compared to Windows. But its better to protect ourselves against them before we get infected, without hitting your head on the keyboard after you lost everything!
Avast is an award winning antivirus software for Windows systems, and they have decided to build a free antivirus system for Linux! Avast is also available on other platforms, so you can use it on multiple machines even if they are not all windows based (keeping standardised software is always a good thing, it just means less maintenance headache).
Now if only they have stop broadcasting “Virus database updated”.
