5 Rules a Blogger Should Follow When Using Social Media

Google Buzz

socialmedia_bandwagonAs a Blogger how do you use social media? How should you use social media? Most of the people don’t understand the difference and ends up building a bad name around them! Most of them gets their accounts disabled due to spamming! So do you want to be like that? If not keep reading

Did you got some of your social media accounts disabled? Did you experience a great fall in the amount of traffic you get from social media? Those are the results of improper usage of social media! Then how to use it correctly? Lets find out…

1) Do not promote only your own posts

When you post some great posts, people think that they can get some great content from this man. But if you are promoting only your posts, they will think that your a jerk… Don’t let that happen. Because, at first you’ll get a boost of traffic, and after that it will suddenly fall. Surf the web, find some great blogs, magazines and some great news sites and try to share their best articles with your friends. Show your friends that you provides the best content…. then after that, they’ll buy anything you will throw at them!

2) Do not spam

If you write 10 posts, never share all of them with your friends, if you try to spam them like this… ultimately your account will get disabled! No one wants that to happen right? So, share only your best articles… Pick the best out of your 10 posts and share them.

3) Share only relevant articles

There’s something like this… different people need different stuff. For example, people in Dzone.com wants only technical stuff (development stuff (web development, software development)). People in Sphinn.com wants only web related stuff. So when your sharing an article, pick your audience first, to whom did I write this? and then see where you have such an audience.

4) Be a part of the community

Aren’t we missing something here? Why do we have social media? To interact with each other, to make friends! Now what are we doing? Are we sharing our posts with our fiends? No actually we are dumping our posts… its like saying “Here is a post, if any one need it, just read it”. First we need to make a community, make some friends who will listen to us. Best way is to spend some time in that social site and do what your supposed to do with it!

5) Find other bloggers and help them to promote their own posts

Don’t try to eat the whole cake by yourself. Try to share it…. If you have built a good profile try to help other bloggers with it, help them by promoting their own posts. Not only that, find their profiles and try to communicate with them, be friends, and share ideas with them. Maybe they know some tips that are very important for your blog…. so go ahead and talk with them!

Think you got it right? Think you can add some more? Then I’ll let you complete the article… Comment your own tips and feel free to share them with us!

Yes we should not put all of over content to social media. If we post there everything so friends will not need to come our site.
And Google will regard it as Duplicate Content.

You are very much right. Posting something of little worth is not helpful at all. Eventually you gain bad reputation.
