Now, many, well recognized anti virus companies had started to build anti virus systems for Linux. They might be well experienced on Windows systems, but they are still infants for Linux! But, there are some anti virus systems which were written specially for Linux. They have ruled the Linux market for many years!

First it was AVG who came with an antivirus for Linux.
Then came Kaspersky and they Released Anti-Virus for Mac (http://techchunks.com/technology/kaspersky-releases-anti-virus-for-mac/)

I personally think they all do pretty much the same. You should only have one Antivirus protection on your pc at a time. As far as free programs, you can go to download.com and type in antivirus and they can give you a list of them. If you are an AT&T DSL customer they have online protection that is free to you. You just have to download it.
sorry bro, download.com do not have software for Linux!
