Edit Comments

Humans are not machines. We all do mistakes. So, when we comment also we make mistakes. But, most of the websites won’t allow us to edit these comments to correct our mistakes! Now what to do? As site owners, I don’t think we like to see some unreadable rubbish as comments right?

Recently, when I try to comment on some blogs, I felt the need to edit my comments. Several times, I have entered wrong comments and comments with wrong spellings because of my stupidity… but unfortunately, most of them won’t allow us to edit our comments.

That’s how I felt about editing comments as a commentator. As a owner of a blog, I  have recognised some people’s comments are unreadable, some words are miss spelled so we can’t understand what it is. Sometimes people ask questions, so, if that question have mistakes, we can’t answer that! Now what to do?

To solve this problem, I have used WP Ajax Edit Comments plugin. This is a really cool plugin which will allow the commentator to edit their comments. It will give a specified time for the comment author to edit their comments, so he can edit it within that time frame. It also have an option to delete the comment. If we feel that we shouldn’t have told what we said, we can request to delete the comment. It will allow both the commentator and the blog owner to stop worrying about bad comments (I didn’t said spam comments!)

So, What do you think? Will you also give your commentators a chance to correct their mistakes? Or do you have more better suggestions to solve this problem?
