Get Set… Ready… Next Page Rank Update!

A site with a higher page rank means, that site is very important on the web! So, the Google page rank is one of the most important factors in determining the quality of a web site! Many people check the PR of a site, before ranking it!
Now, before we start, lets see what is page rank :
A PageRank results from a “ballot” among all the other pages on the World Wide Web about how important a page is. A hyperlink to a page counts as a vote of support. The PageRank of a page is defined recursively and depends on the number and PageRank metric of all pages that link to it (“incoming links”). A page that is linked to by many pages with high PageRank receives a high rank itself. If there are no links to a web page there is no support for that page.
As mentioned above, page rank depends on the number of incoming links! But, remember… bad links will always result in lower page ranks! As webmasters, we always try to get a better page rank for our website. We should have to make a lot of effort for this purpose.
But some people complain that even though they do really well… still they don’t have a page rank! Actually, you should remember one thing.. Google page rank is not updated everyday! Google used to update their page ranks in about 3 to 4 months!
The last page rank update was made on 31/12/2009! Recently my friend Sudharsanece@technoskillonline.com posted about the next page rank update on our forum : PAGerank Update MArch-April 2010 ! According to him, the next update will be on March or April! In this post, my friend BloggingTips@bloggingtips.co.in specifically stated that the next update might be on 31st of March or 1st of April!
This update will be a very important update for us, because currently, we don’t have any PR due to the recent domain change! After we moved to the new domain, we lost our PR! So… we are expecting even a better page rank this time! What about you? What are your expectations?

Even though it is nice to have a higher PR, Page Rank is now becoming less and less relevant.
Page Rank no longer carries the weight it had before.
I have a PR2 site, lets see whether I can get PR3 this time. Fingers crossed.

I hope this is not an April Fool prank! As far as I know, nobody has ever predicted the PR update correctly (yes they used to update it every 3-4 months, but these days their frequency of update has been inconsistent).

Lets hope the next pagerank update is soon. I can’t remember the last one.
The update usually takes place around the 4th or 5th of the month.
