Facebook : Secrets of F8
You like this story?
After much controversy and speculation F8 conference held in San Fransisco has brought to light the new changes gonna happen in Facebook. The package already includes the “Universal Like” feature that was mentioned in a previous post. Sinking deep into details, here is a reiteration of the “Like” feature and more news!!
“Like”
Nothing much to be said about this one. The sneak peaks and web gossip went around is mostly accurate about “Universal Like” feature. Once connected to Facebook third party sites that you log in at the same time will be now displaying the “Like” button. It’s somewhat a more improved share where you can “Like” products and purchasable items in online stores. At the meantime you’ll be able to see one’s who like the same thing in your friends list on that site in a built in Facebook “Like” plugin.
Activity Feed
A set of actions that facebook users in your friend list have taken in various sites. For example this is already online in CNN.com. Here is a snap of how it looks like..
Once you log in to the site you can see a list of shared items and interactions your friend’s have made using this new feature. By default it shows interactions of world wide FB users on the site.
Recommendations
Once you’re in a site which has Facebook social plugin integrated what happens is it will start to display a set of recommendations based on the actions taken by the user in that specific site. If something is liked it will likely display what your friends and Facebook community has liked automatically. Thus comes into play “Recommendations!!
Furthermore a product manager at Facebook Austin Haugen states the following in his initial blog post about the change..
“It’s important to note that none of your personal data is shared with a site when you view these new features, and they will only be visible to you when you’re logged in to Facebook. Also, none of these features impact or change Facebook’s advertising programs or policies.”
That is all about the new changes. Hope it stays that for a while and give the bloggers in Tech Hamlet some rest. That will be all for now.

I liked these changes. They are good. Specially the Like button.
The recent changes and features that Facebook has done is good but I feel bad about it stopping the Facebook Lite Service
Facebook playing their card well to shift the internet center from Google to it. All they need now, take an Adsense alternative and cut down Google's revenue. Will they do it? Will Microsoft too allow everyone in their adverting program? If any company want to take over Google, they have to cut down Google's revenue.
Video is a nice one
Facebook has done some great changes :)
