IObit Security 360 : Another Light Weight Companion to Protect Your PC

Downloaded the free version of IObit Security 360 today to test this new addition to anti viral utility world where anti viruses are popping up like poppies in Afghanistan. That is good I guess. Where the ancient proverb “Too many cooks spoil the soup” stands to be on the contrary. SO I believe it’s best to choose one cook for your soup and we at Tech Hamlet will ensure you pick the right one by putting it to our (needs imaginary fanfare again) “proving grounds!!”

So one of the sleekest features of this utility is that it can co-exist with whatever behemoth anti virus program you are using it with. Thus the need to uninstall one product to run the other is non existent. And the virus scan is pretty fast managed to do a full scan of the PC in mere 10 mins (quite dubious, yes.) and it found an intruder in the machine used as test subject which was assured by it’s anti virus program to be completely safe. So what can be assumed is that malware scan runs deep into viral hiding spots in browser cache and registry and eradicates them or my existing anti virus is pretty dumb since I got it free. But than being apathetic I think I should hail it’s unique “Dual Core engine” for the very quick scan. A feature I must have mentioned before in this article. It takes about 25Mb of disk space so that isn’t much I believe to any user.

Other features excluding the above are

• The Hijack scan that enables the user to manage and secure soft spots of the PC frequently targeted by malware and anti viruses.
• Search option for any “security holes” in the system.
• “Passive defense” feature. Active browser protection at all times.
• “Unlock & Delete” feature that helps in unlocking and removal of unwanted locked files in your PC.
• “Privacy Sweeper” as I see it more of these I have better suited to what i’m good at..hehe
• “PC tuneup” facility
• “IS360″ portable version. Now i’m totally stoked about this feature. Generates a portable version of the software you can use on other PC’s. Portable though..it has free license still.
