Facebook SecurityThe Internet is full of hackers and malware! Who knows, the next time you log into your Facebook account, it might be hacked and it’ll show a head of a cow as your profile picture!!! The question is, how can we stay away from these dangers. Recently Facebook have released a new feature, which can be used to make sure that only you have logged into your Facebook profile and no one else!

Every day the Internet gets more dangerous. Phishing scams to steal your passwords and credit card details, Hackers to hack your mail and social network accounts, Malware to kill your PC…. These treats are getting stronger everyday and we also need to evolve if we need to fight them back! So, because of this, Facebook have decided to strengthen their defences and provide more protection to its users.

The recent addition to Facebook will let you to save the devices that you use to login. If some one else logs in with a different device, you’ll be notified immediately, so you can change your password and prevent it from happening again.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been testing a new feature that allows you to approve the devices you commonly use to log in and then to be notified whenever your account is accessed from a device you haven’t approved. This feature is now available to everyone.

To enable this feature :

Go to the Account Settings page and click on “Change” in-front of “Account Settings”. After that, select “Yes” under “Would you like to receive notifications for logins from new devices?”. If you want to get more security, select “SMS” feature so that they’ll send you a text message to your mobile phone when some one else logs into your Facebook account.

Whenever you register a system like that, you’ll get and email like this :

Now, Are you feeling more secured with this new feature? But remember, don’t feel it too much. Because this won’t help you to be completely safe. So, don’t forget to do everything else to protect yourself like, not longing in using a public computer, use an anti virus, use strong passwords, etc.
